Overview

Restoran SM Yong Tau Foo Klang stands as a cherished culinary landmark in the heart of Klang, Selangor. Nestled at 72, Jalan Goh Hock Huat, this humble eatery captures the essence of traditional Malaysian Hainanese fare with a focus on its signature Yong Tau Foo — a dish deeply rooted in rich family heritage and perfected over decades. The restaurant’s legacy is reflected in its dishes, which resonate with authentic flavors and freshly prepared ingredients, ensuring every bite brings a satisfying taste of home-cooked comfort.

The true highlight here is, without a doubt, the Yong Tau Foo. The assortment includes a colorful variety of fresh stuffed ingredients: tender eggplants, soft tofu blocks, crispy fried wontons, smooth fish balls, and distinctive pork meatballs. Each piece is crafted with care and generously filled, promising a balance of texture and flavor. Accompanied by their homemade chili and sweet bean sauces, the dish transforms into a harmonious blend of spicy and savory notes that invigorate the palate.

Another standout on the menu is the Chee Cheong Fun, a silky and delicate rice noodle roll that pays homage to a Taiping-style family recipe over 40 years old. It arrives lightly drizzled with a fragrant brown bean sauce, and many diners suggest a subtle splash of soy sauce to elevate its understated elegance. Alongside this, the Wanton Noodle and Curry Mee provide traditional Malaysian noodle experiences—each bowl delivering robust flavors and comforting warmth, perfect for breakfast or lunch.

The atmosphere echoes the restaurant’s longstanding roots, a no-frills space where the focus remains firmly on the food and a welcoming dining experience. Its location in Kawasan 18 places it within easy reach for locals and visitors craving nostalgic tastes or exploring Klang’s food scene. The menu invites all—from families to working professionals looking for an honest, home-style meal that doesn’t compromise quality or tradition.

Accompanying the savory dishes are classic kopitiam-style beverages such as aromatic coffee, barley, and liang teh, providing refreshing complements to the rich flavors. While the drinks may not steal the spotlight compared to the food, they round out the experience in a familiar, comforting way.

Restoran SM Yong Tau Foo Klang is more than just a place to eat; it's a culinary journey that celebrates heritage and authenticity through every dish. Whether you’re in for a quick breakfast or a leisurely lunch, the restaurant delivers a dependable, flavorful encounter rooted in Malaysian tradition. This spot is a genuine find for anyone seeking hearty, well-prepared comfort food in Klang’s vibrant food landscape.

The yong tau fu price is one of the cheapest that I have came across in Klang and KL. In addition, the yong tau fu portion is big, and taste fresh and delicious. Feeling very satisfying, and highly recommended.

A Taiping 40 yr old Shredded Chee Cheong Fun in Klang That Really Hits Your Craving . People flock here to have breakfast and lunch . If you’re looking for a place that serves honest, old school Malaysian comfort food, this Taiping-style shop in Klang is really worth a visit. They’ve been around for more than 40 years, and you can taste every bit of that tradition in their signature shredded Chee Cheong Fun. It’s a special family recipe passed down from the older generation in Taiping, the real authentic kind, not the commercialised version. Many regulars say it’s the best in Klang, and it’s easy to see why. Their Yong Tau Foo spread is also a big magnet for customers. You’ll find all the favourites, juicy eggplants, soft tau foo blocks, crisp fried wantan, tasty sway kow (fried or boiled), smooth fish balls, delicious fried eggs in fish paste, plus lady’s fingers, bitter gourd, red chillis, and their very flavourful pork meatballs. Everything is fresh, stuffed properly, and cooked with care. But the real power combo here is their specially prepared homemade chilli and sweet bean sauces. These two sauces alone can make you makan non-stop , spicy, flavourful, and shiok enough to enhance every Yong Tau Foo piece. The soup could be improved, and the coffee, tea and barley are not as good as their food . But when it comes to food that satisfies, this place delivers ! If you want a solid place for breakfast, lunch or brunch, this Klang shop won’t disappoint you. In one word , the food is Yummy !

July 2024 The food here is good!!! Just order whatever you wish, cannot go wrong. Prepared fresh to order, everything is served piping hot. A good range of tasty dishes, the fried fu pei and white tau fu are particular standouts. 3rd July 2024 The chee cheong fun is smooth, delicate and refined. Served with a brown bean sauce, the chee cheong fun would be just as good with a dash of soy sauce. And the soup ... waah Okay ... maybe the coffee is only so-so but the barley drink is good.
